Planting Tray
It is a beautiful day today, sunny and 70! A nice welcome after a week of cloudy, cold days. Everything is turning green, buds are on the trees, birds are busy building nests, flowers are blooming and the air smells earthy. I love spring! Earth’s welcome renewal after a long winter slumber.
I wanted to share with you another unique, cheap, planting pot. It’s a wallpaper water tray, well, I think that’s what it is called. It can be purchased at any big box store in the painting sections of the store. Drill some holes in the bottom of it for drainage and fill with potting soil. I use it in the greenhouse at the end of the season and now, early spring, to grow lettuces and spinach. You see arugula and some swiss chard seedlings. The arugula needs thinning, which I will use the baby greens in a salad or my sandwich. The swiss chard I will transplant in the garden. It is nice to have fresh lettuces before it is time to plant the garden, it’s not much but, it satisfies your craving until the garden gets going.
