Bat in the night
This happened about a month ago but I still feel compelled to tell the story so here goes.
Last night at 4:00 a.m. I went to the bathroom; I laid back down and thought I saw a shadow on the ceiling. Hmm…I’m sure it’s just a reflection, the window was open and it was windy. I closed my eyes…did I just hear fluttering in the drapes? I opened my eyes and a bat flew over my head! EEKK! A yelled bat and threw the covers over my head. My husband asked me if I really saw a bat as he stood up and turned on the light. “Oh, crap! A bat’s in the house” he exclaimed. I stayed under the covers while he got it out of our room. It flew downstairs and he shut the bedroom doors. Of course he managed to catch it and release it back into the night, safely. (my husband said the bat got tired of laughing at him trying to catch it and finally stop to rest when he used one of those extension handle rubber suction cup thingies to grad it and take it outside) Me? I was still under the covers and our Golden Retriever never even lifted his head from his slumber. The dog and I slept well while my husband needed a little time before he could fall back to sleep. About that time the alarm went off. Time for my hero to go back to work!
