I had friends over for a 4th of July cookout and swim; it was a fun filled day with good food and great friends. I wanted to make a quick fresh mozzarella and tomato appetizer, but I didn’t have any fresh tomatoes yet, so I used oven dried tomatoes from the freezer and fresh basil. [Read more...]

I was picking rhubarb in my neighbors, Howard’s, garden and noticed a beautiful batch of purslane. He confirmed that’s what it was and with all the rain it was lush. Well, most of us in the states consider it a weed. I have seen it in my herb cookbooks but have never tried it. My [Read more...]

Or try dipping other veggies in it such as grilled asparagus. I also use it as a salad dressing. I just mix the ingredients in the salad bowl, add [Read more...]

It was my lucky, lucky day! My neighbor Bob went Morel hunting and shared half of his finds with me. Thanks Bob! Those of you that have seen Morel’s available at a farmers market know what I mean. They are very expensive and you almost have to have a source to obtain them. I started [Read more...]

I haven’t made chicken in parchment (papillote) in a long time and every time I make this I always wonder, “Why don’t I make this more often?” It is so easy, has a ton of flavor and it’s very moist. It will make your taste buds sing and dance, trust me. I will tell to [Read more...]

These fish tacos are delicious, light and zesty. They remind me of fish tacos from taco trucks or the tacos I had in California. I used fish but you can try shrimp or scallops and they would be equally delicious. I always see cilantro and radishes as a topping on tacos. I combined the radishes, cabbage, [Read more...]
