Shadow’s Secret (she has kittens)
Wow! This has been the week of cute babies! First of all, the cat Shadow I talk about…well it’s a girl. She was staring at me through the patio door and it seemed that she was trying to tell me something. I went to the door, she looked at me more intently, looked to her side and there was a kitten, and another, and another… four kittens in all. Three of them have white mittens just like her and they are all adorable. Then she hustled them away to our wood pile for safety. It’s like she wanted to show me her children, how proud she was of them and how busy they are keeping her. I have been putting out a little extra food; I know she’s going to need the energy with those kids. My neighbor, Carol, informed me that her “All About Cats” book says female cats can have a litter in March, another in June and a third in Sept. Holy Smokes! We’ve got to turn off the kitten machine. It also said cats are not like dogs. If they don’t mate they will come into season again almost immediately. I believe the term “notoriously promiscuous” was used!” We are looking into getting her fixed; she’s a good outdoor cat. As a female, could you imagine being pregnant that much? The kittens are very playful and so entertaining to watch. Anybody want a kitten? Check out the pictures. Just adorable.

I will take a kitty!! but I don’t think it would do good with Barley!! You should give one to Carol since she lost her cat.
